What You Will Work On

Analytics, Metrics, Statistics, with system design, data engineering, A/B testing across the wider stack.

What You Need

- 10-15 years with Analytics in production.
- Hands-on depth in Metrics, Statistics, enough to defend a decision you made in each, and name the one you rejected.
- Working familiarity with system design, data engineering, A/B testing.
- You have set technical direction that other teams built on, and have been wrong about one of those decisions in a way you can describe.
- The ability to explain a technical decision to somebody who did not make it. Every round here includes it.

About

Not the focus of the interview, but part of the job. Teams ask about these, so be ready to talk about them:

- Git, branching and code review as a daily habit
- One cloud provider used in anger: AWS, Azure or GCP
- CI/CD: your work reaches an workplace without somebody carrying it
- SQL that survives review,



and Python for anything SQL cannot express
- A warehouse: BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift
- Orchestration and transformation: Airflow, dbt or equivalent
- A BI layer (Looker, Tableau, Metabase), and dashboards people kept using
- Experiment design: sample size, significance, and when not to call it
