About BetterBugs

BetterBugs is one platform with three products built around a single problem: bug reports that force back-and-forth between the person who found the issue and the person who has to fix it.

- Chrome Extension, for engineering teams. QA and developers capture pixel-perfect bug reports with console logs, network requests, environment details, and steps to reproduce attached automatically. AI-powered root cause analysis and code suggestions cut debug time by up to 80%.
- Recording Links, for support teams. Customers or team members get sent a link instead of being asked to describe the issue. Support agents receive video, screenshots, and technical detail automatically, which speeds up escalation to engineering.
- WebSDK, for product teams. A feedback widget embedded directly in the product, no extension required, generating a steady stream of context-rich feedback for roadmap prioritisation.

A newer offering, MCP (Model Context Protocol), loads BetterBugs reports directly into AI agents and developer environments like Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf. BetterBugs integrates with Jira, Linear, GitHub, Slack, Teams, Notion, Trello, ClickUp, Asana, and others, and holds AICPA SOC and GDPR compliance.

Current numbers: 10,000+ developers, 1 million+ bugs squashed, a 4.9 Chrome Store rating. Customers include Saleshandy, Natera, Sensesbit, Egomonk, Databox, Dubizzle, QuartzBio, and Nevvon.

The Role

This is a single-owner marketing role for BetterBugs. One person owns strategy and execution end to end, reporting directly to the founder.

The product serves three distinct buyers (engineering, support, product), so the role needs someone who can hold a coherent brand and go-to-market strategy across audiences without diluting it into something generic.

Responsibilities

- Build and own the marketing strategy and roadmap for BetterBugs, across content, SEO, social, and growth




- Plan and execute content that speaks credibly to a technical audience across all three buyer types (engineering, support, product)
- Own keyword strategy and organic search performance for the category, including tracking what is working and reallocating effort accordingly
- Run BetterBugs' social presence, building a voice suited to a technical audience
- Own the funnel from awareness through installs, activation, and paid conversion, and run experiments to move it
- Use customer proof, performance metrics, and product capability as the foundation for messaging, rather than generic category claims
- Stay ahead of positioning as the product evolves, including newer capabilities as they launch
- Track and defend competitive positioning against the category's other players
- Report on performance with clear numbers, on a regular cadence
- Work with product to translate technical capability into market-facing narrative

What We're Looking For
- 4 to 5 years in growth marketing, with at least one stint on a developer, QA, or technical B2B SaaS product
- Track record of running a marketing function independently, not executing against someone else's plan
- Comfort marketing to multiple buyer personas under one product umbrella without collapsing them into one message
- Strong writing, tight and evidence-based, comfortable with technical subject matter
- Real SEO fluency: keyword architecture, content clustering, on-page optimisation
- Social instinct for a technical audience
- Comfortable reading performance from analytics, not just engagement counts
- Bonus: experience marketing a Chrome extension, a PLG motion, or a QA/devtools product specifically

Success Metrics
- A marketing engine for BetterBugs that runs on its own cadence
- Organic traffic and installs growing quarter over quarter, with a explicit read on what is driving it
- A social and content presence that earns engagement from technical audiences without prompting
- Monthly reviews backed by numbers
