Role Description The GM Finance will oversee the overall financial management of Velammal Educational Trust, including budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring of institutional finances. This role includes leading the finance team, implementing robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and managing relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders. The GM Finance will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial reports, analyzing variances, optimizing cash flow, and supporting strategic decisions with data-driven financial insights.





The position requires close coordination with senior leadership and various departments to align financial policies with the trust’s educational and operational goals. This is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with demonstrated experience in managing large-scale institutional finances.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and management accounting, including variance analysis and cost optimization.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, taxation, and regulatory frameworks relevant to educational trusts or similar organizations.
- Experience in cash flow management, fund allocation, and banking operations, including liaison with auditors and financial institutions.
- Leadership and team management abilities, with experience mentoring finance professionals and driving process improvements.
- Advanced proficiency in finance-related software and ERP systems; strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with a collaborative and ethical working style.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent, with substantial experience in senior finance roles; prior experience in the education or not-for-profit sector is an added advantage.
