Role Summary
- Skillnet Learning LLP is looking for a proactive and technically-inclined Field Engineer to serve as the organization's on-ground representative for industry relations in the assigned region. The role is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with manufacturing companies, identifying skilling and consulting needs, and generating business opportunities in training, consulting, and Industry 4.0 implementation. This is a field intensive, client-facing role suited to candidates who enjoy visiting plants, understanding shop-floor challenges, and translating them into actionable business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

Industry
Relations & Business Development • Identify new businesses in manufacturing / industrial area to offer services in training, consulting, manufacturing solutions in digitalization and Industry4.0.
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturing companies (SMEs, mid-size, and large enterprises) across the assigned region.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers such as plant heads, HR/L&D; heads, production heads, and quality heads.
- Conduct regular visits to manufacturing plants to understand operational challenges, skill gaps, and technology readiness.
- Represent Skillnet Learning at industry events, trade fairs, cluster meetings, and association forums (e.g., CII, FICCI, MSME clusters, sector skill councils).
- Opportunity Identification • Identify and qualify leads for training programs — technical/vocational skilling, behavioural training, and leadership development. • Identify consulting opportunities such as productivity improvement, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and competency mapping. • Spot Industry 4.0 implementation opportunities — automation, IoT adoption, shop-floor digitalization, and smart-manufacturing readiness assessments. • Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) and skill-gap assessments at client sites.
- Solution Positioning & Proposal Support • Work closely with internal subject matter experts and delivery teams to translate client needs into tailored proposals. • Support scoping, pricing discussions, and proposal development for training and consulting engagements. • Coordinate site visits and assessments for Industry 4.0 readiness studies.
- Relationship Management & Account Growth • Maintain and grow existing client accounts to drive repeat business and referrals. • Track industry trends, government skilling schemes (Skill India, NSDC, sector skill councils), and competitor activity. • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, opportunities, visits, and client interactions.
- Reporting & Coordination • Provide regular reports on client visits, pipeline status, and conversions to the reporting manager.
• Support coordination of training program logistics in the region, including venue tie-ups and batch scheduling.
Qualifications & Experience:
- • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related discipline) preferred; MBA is an added advantage.
- 0–2 years of experience; freshers with strong technical acumen and an interest in industry engagement and business development are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems (5S, Lean, Six Sigma fundamentals).
- Awareness of Industry 4.0 concepts — IoT, automation, digital manufacturing, and smart factory trends — is preferred.
Skills & Competencies • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. • Consultative mindset with the ability to understand and translate client pain points into solutions. • Self-driven, target-oriented, and comfortable in a field-based, client-facing role.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; proficiency in the local regional language preferred.
