Hiring: Field Deployment Engineer – Security & Networking | Bangalore

Saptang Labs Private Limited is looking for a hands-on Field Deployment Engineer – Security & Networking to deploy, configure, and support security and networking infrastructure across customer environments.

This is a field engineering role involving security products, networking infrastructure, Linux servers, SIEM platforms, containerized deployments, and customer-site troubleshooting.

Travel: Up to 40%, including occasional 1–2 week customer-site deployments

Key Responsibilities:

Deployment

- Deploy security products such as NDR, SOC automation, and DLP on bare-metal, VM, or containerized infrastructure.
- Configure network TAPs, SPAN ports, and packet broker setups for traffic mirroring.
- Set up and configure SIEM platforms, including log source onboarding, alert rules, and correlation.
- Deploy and configure firewalls, VPN concentrators, and network segmentation.
- Set up monitoring using Zabbix, Grafana, SNMP, or similar tools.
- Perform OS, network device, SIEM, and application-stack hardening.
- Prepare network diagrams, IP plans, runbooks, and deployment documentation.

Operational Support

- Provide L2/L3 support for deployed security and networking products.
- Troubleshoot SIEM ingestion failures, alert pipelines, sensor health, and connectivity issues.
- Support managed SOC operations and ensure log flow, sensor uptime, and SIEM health.
- Diagnose customer-reported issues, identify root causes,



and resolve or escalate them.
- Perform firmware and software upgrades.
- Monitor deployment health and proactively address potential issues.
- Participate in on-call support for critical customer environments.

Pre-Sales & Handover

- Conduct customer site surveys and assess network topology.
- Identify TAP/SPAN points and hardware requirements.
- Support POC deployments and customer demonstrations.
- Train customer operations teams on deployed solutions.
- Create and maintain deployment SOPs and runbooks.

Required Skills:

- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in network/security deployment or operations.
- Strong Linux administration skills with Ubuntu/RHEL, including systemd, networking, storage, logs, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewall rules, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
- Experience configuring managed switches and firewalls such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, pfSense, or MikroTik.
- Experience with SIEM platforms such as Wazuh, Log360, Splunk, QRadar, or Elastic.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Ability to deploy, debug, and manage containerized services.
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%.

Good to Have:

- Experience with network TAPs, packet brokers,



or traffic mirroring.
- Familiarity with NDR/IDS tools such as Suricata or Zeek.
- Bash or Python scripting experience.
- Experience with Zabbix, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Exposure to SOC operations, alert triage, and incident response workflows.
- CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with government, defence, or telecom customers.
