Role Description The Electrical Draftsman – Chennai is a full-time, on-site role responsible for preparing detailed electrical drawings and plans for various projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering specifications, creating and updating technical drawings using CAD software, and ensuring that all electrical layouts comply with relevant standards and codes. The role involves close collaboration with electrical engineers and project teams to clarify requirements, coordinate design changes, and support accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

The Electrical

Draftsman will also review drawings for quality and completeness, maintain drawing registers, and assist in resolving any design-related issues that arise during installation and commissioning.



This position is based in Chennai and requires a solid focus on accuracy, safety, and timely delivery of drafting work.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering to support the development of compliant and efficient electrical systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Technical Drawing and Electrical Plans to produce precise, clear, and well-structured project documentation.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Electricity to interpret load requirements, circuit layouts, and safety standards.
- Proficiency with CAD software (such as AutoCAD or similar), including experience in electrical drafting and layout design.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics, standards, and construction documents.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple drawings and revisions within project timelines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on-site in Chennai.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and regulations; prior experience in building services or industrial projects is an advantage.
