Role Description The EDM Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Electrical Discharge Machines to manufacture precision mould components according to technical drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include preparing workpieces and electrodes, loading and aligning parts, selecting appropriate machining parameters, and ensuring dimensional accuracy through measurement and inspection tools. The role also includes routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues, maintaining production records,



and collaborating with designers and toolmakers to optimize machining processes.

This is a full time, on-site role based at the Matrixx Engiplast LLP facility in Ahmedabad, requiring adherence to safety procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Strong hands-on skills in EDM machine operation, including setup, parameter selection, and process optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications for mould components.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) and basic quality inspection techniques.
- Understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials used in mould manufacturing, particularly for plastics and related applications.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or tool room environment, preferably with CNC, VMC, or wire-cut machines as an added advantage.
- Commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping, and following standardized procedures and documentation.
- Ability to work in shifts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and meet production deadlines with attention to detail.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in mechanical, tool and die, or production engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
