Role: EDI Developer

Location: Remote

Experience: 2-4 years | Logistics Domain Experience: MANDATORY

Role Overview

You will be working on large-scale EDI implementation, enhancement, and integration projects for customers in the logistics and transportation domain. The role involves developing new EDI maps, implementing customer onboarding solutions, enhancing existing integrations, supporting production issues, and delivering end-to-end EDI solutions using IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.

In addition to customer implementation work, you will also contribute to strategic EDI modernization and migration initiatives, including the migration of EDI assets from legacy platforms such as OpenText to IBM Sterling B2B Integrator. The organization actively invests in automation and AI-driven development approaches, providing opportunities to work on automated map generation, code conversion, testing automation, and other innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement new EDI maps, business processes, and communication profiles using IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
- Develop EDI solutions for new customer onboarding, trading partner integrations, and business enhancements.
- Analyze business and mapping requirements and translate them into high-quality EDI solutions.
- Enhance and maintain existing EDI maps and integrations based on customer change requests and business needs.
- Work with business analysts, project managers, customers, and trading partners to clarify technical requirements and deliver quality solutions.
- Support onboarding of new trading partners, connectivity setup, communication profiles, and end-to-end integration testing.
- Perform Unit Testing, support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Trading Partner testing.
- Troubleshoot, analyze,



and resolve production issues while ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and support documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
- Contribute to solution design discussions and recommend scalable, reusable EDI solutions.
- Support Go-Live planning, deployment activities, Hypercare, and post-production support.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer to customers and internal teams.
- Participate in migration projects involving EDI assets from legacy platforms to IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
- Contribute to Proof of Concepts (POCs), automation initiatives, and AI-assisted development to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
- Comply with DivIHN development standards, CMMI, ISO, and organizational best practices.

Mandatory Domain Experience – Logistics (Non-Negotiable)

- Strong, hands-on logistics domain experience is mandatory. Profiles without demonstrable logistics EDI development experience will not be shortlisted.
- Minimum 2 years of EDI map development delivered specifically for logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, 3PL/4PL, warehousing, parcel, ocean or air freight customers.
- Mandatory hands-on development experience with logistics transaction sets: 204, 210, 211, 214, 215, 990 and 997. Desirable: 110, 300, 301, 304, 310, 315, 945, 850, 856, 810.
- Working knowledge of core logistics business processes: load tender and acceptance, shipment booking, pickup/delivery scheduling, in-transit milestone events, freight billing and settlement,



customs/documentation, and warehouse inbound/outbound flows.
- Ability to read carrier, shipper, 3PL and forwarder EDI specifications and relate every segment/element back to an actual logistics operational process.
- Understanding of how EDI data flows into logistics, TMS and freight forwarding platforms such as CargoWise, World Port, Oracle OTM, MercuryGate, Blue Yonder or equivalent.
- Candidates whose EDI experience is limited to retail, healthcare, insurance, finance or manufacturing only, with no logistics exposure, are not eligible for this role.
- Ability to build and debug maps against real logistics scenarios — multi-stop loads, tender accept/decline, status event sequencing, accessorial and rate segments, weight/dimension and reference qualifiers.
- Experience onboarding logistics trading partners (carriers, shippers, brokers, forwarders) including specification review, connectivity setup and partner testing.

Required Technical Skills

- 2+ years of experience in EDI development and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (v6.x preferred).
- Strong experience developing and maintaining EDI maps for logistics and transportation customers.
- Experience with most of the following EDI transaction sets:
- 110, 204, 210, 211, 212, 214, 215, 219, 250, 300, 301, 304, 310, 315, 810, 816, 820, 824, 850, 855, 856, 860, 864, 945, 990, 997.
- Experience developing Business Processes, Communication Profiles, and Trading Partner configurations in IBM Sterling.
- Good understanding of EDI standards including ANSI X12.
- Experience performing Unit Testing and supporting SIT, UAT, and Trading Partner testing.
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with customer onboarding and production deployments.
- Experience working on EDI migration projects will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Containers, and AWS cloud environments.
