Field Support & Data Validation Engineer – Telematics (Entry Level)
Responsibilities -
- Provide remote support to field technicians in North America and India during telematics device installations across different vehicle platforms
- Remotely update device firmware and configurations as part of installation and troubleshooting support
- Troubleshoot hardware, wiring, and connectivity issues encountered during installation
- Validate telematics data post-installation to confirm correct device functioning and data integrity
- Guide field technicians in collecting diagnostic logs from vehicle diagnostic interfaces
(OBD/CAN) using various logger types
- Analyze data throughput and quality using SQL and spreadsheets; publish regular reports to stakeholders
- Travel on-site (India) when remote analysis indicates unresolved issues requiring hands-on debugging
Work Schedule-
- Should be available for late-night hours to support North American time zones on active support days
- Flexible daytime hours
Requirements-
- Degree/diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or a related engineering field (freshers welcome)
- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic interfaces (CAN bus, OBD-II) and basic automotive electrical systems
- Working knowledge of SQL and spreadsheet tools (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Comfort working with embedded device firmware/configuration updates (or willingness to learn)
- Strong troubleshooting skills to guide non-expert field staff remotely
- Solid communication skills (spoken and written English) is a must for this role
- Willingness to work late-night hours and travel internationally on short notice when required
Nice to Have-
- Prior exposure to telematics/IoT hardware (GPS, cellular modules, CAN loggers)
- Experience with remote firmware update tools/processes
- Internship or academic project experience with commercial/EV vehicle platforms
