Remote Operations Manager – Cabinetry Design, Drafting & ProductionPSM Cabinets | Remote | Full-time

We're PSM Cabinets, a custom cabinetry and joinery manufacturer based in Melbourne, Australia, and we're looking for an experienced remote operator to run our entire digital backend — from design drafting through to production release — end to end.

About usPSM Cabinets designs and manufactures bespoke kitchens, wardrobes and custom joinery for builders, designers and homeowners across Australia. We've built a lean, largely online-first pipeline that takes a job from client brief straight through to CNC-cut components with minimal manual handoffs, and we're now looking for the right person to own and run that pipeline day to day.

About the roleThis is a backend operations role, not a front-of-house one. Twelve months in, you'll be the single point of accountability for how a job moves from enquiry to finished drawings to the factory floor — translating client briefs into accurate, production-ready plans, keeping every job visible and current in our systems, and making sure design, ordering and manufacturing never lose sync with each other. You'll work closely with our Australian factory and design team, but you'll own the process itself.

What you'll do

- Draft accurate cabinetry and joinery design plans and shop drawings from client briefs and site measurements, ready to hand to manufacturing.
- Own and maintain our job/CRM system — every enquiry, quote and job tracked and current from first contact to handover.
- Manage production workflow: scheduling jobs through design, drafting, cutting and assembly, and flagging bottlenecks before they cause delays.
- Convert finished designs into machining programs for CNC production,



with accurate cut lists and nesting.
- Coordinate between design, suppliers, trades and the factory floor so information never gets lost in handoffs.
- Prepare product and marketing visuals to support sales, quoting and online listings.
- Look for ways to tighten and automate the backend so jobs move faster with fewer errors.

What we're looking forRequired:

- 5+ years' experience in cabinetry, joinery, furniture or similar manufacturing design/drafting, using CAD or specialist cabinetry design software.
- Hands-on experience running a CRM or job-management system for a trade or manufacturing business.
- Comfortable operating across several different software systems for drafting, design and administration in the same day, and confident picking up new systems quickly.
- Strong written English and comfortable coordinating daily with an Australia-based team across time zones.
- Highly organised, self-directed and reliable — this role carries real autonomy and real accountability.

Preferred:

- Prior exposure to generating CNC/machining programs for panel-based manufacturing.
- Experience with graphic design or image-editing tools for marketing and product presentation.
- Background in architecture, interior design or manufacturing operations.
- Prior remote-work experience with an overseas employer.
