About the role
We are looking for a Delivery Director to own end-to-end delivery across a portfolio of strategic global accounts comprising multiple projects and service lines.
This role goes well beyond delivery governance. The Delivery Director will be responsible for delivery performance, customer satisfaction, commercial health, transformation and account growth. The portfolio is expected to operate at a scale of approximately 200–300 professionals.
The role requires close collaboration with client partners, sales teams, practice leaders, PMO, HR and operations.
Key responsibilities
Own delivery across a portfolio of strategic accounts, ensuring adherence to customer commitments, quality standards, timelines and SLAs.
Establish and drive governance across projects, identify delivery risks early and lead recovery plans for projects requiring intervention.
Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders and lead QBRs, executive governance, CSAT management and critical escalations.
Own the commercial health of the delivery portfolio, including revenue protection, gross margins, utilisation, delivery pyramids and bench management.
Work with sales teams and client partners to identify opportunities, support account growth and deliver against revenue targets.
Partner with practice leaders to identify transformation opportunities, define measurable goals and drive them to completion.
Support presales through solutioning, estimation, RFP and SOW inputs, and relevant case studies.
Manage resource forecasts and work with internal teams to maintain the right talent capacity and bench.
Mentor delivery and programme leaders, strengthen delivery practices and build a culture of ownership and accountability.
Experience and capabilities
18+ years of experience, predominantly within IT services or software consulting organisations.
Proven experience leading delivery for a business unit, strategic account or portfolio of at least 200 professionals.
Early-career hands-on experience in software engineering or technology, followed by progression into architecture and delivery leadership.
Broad understanding of modern application development, cloud-native engineering, data engineering, quality assurance and managed services/ITSM.
Strong experience managing commercial metrics such as revenue, gross margins, profitability, utilisation and bench.
Demonstrated experience working with senior global customers, handling executive governance, QBRs, CSAT and complex escalations.
Two or more years of meaningful on-site customer experience in the US or Europe.
Experience overseeing at least one or two AI-enabled or AI-native application development engagements for customers, with the ability to explain how they were delivered and the value they created.
Experience contributing to solutioning, presales and delivery-led account growth.
Strong executive presence, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
A high degree of ownership, commercial judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a matrix organisation.
Important context
This role requires commercial delivery ownership within an IT services workplace. Candidates whose delivery experience has been entirely within product companies or captive/GCC environments are unlikely to have the operating context required for the role.
