What you'll need

5+ years in data engineering, with strong hands-on experience across:

- Data modelling — dimensional, 3NF or Data Vault; we care that you can defend the choice
- ETL and ELT pipeline development




- Snowflake
- dbt
- Python
- SQL — queries and stored procedures on a major relational database (SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle or MySQL)
- Airflow, or a comparable orchestrator you could transfer from (Dagster, Prefect, Azure Data Factory)
- Cloud data engineering — Azure preferred; solid AWS or GCP experience is equally welcome
- Working with AI coding tools. You use AI assistants (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar) as a normal part of how you work, and you apply judgment to what they produce — reviewing generated code before it ships, recognising when the output is confidently wrong, and keeping credentials and sensitive data out of prompts. We're interested in the judgment more than the specific tool; expect to talk through a real example.
