Key Responsibilities
Assist Critical Care Consultants in the assessment, diagnosis and management of critically ill patients.
Conduct patient rounds and monitor clinical condition, vital parameters and response to treatment.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, progress notes and clinical records.
Assist in procedures such as central lines, arterial lines, intubation, airway management and other critical care procedures as required and under supervision.
Monitor patients on ventilators, inotropic support and other critical care interventions.
Identify and promptly escalate any deterioration in the patient's clinical condition to the concerned Consultant.
Coordinate with Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy and other clinical teams for seamless patient care.
Review investigation reports and communicate significant findings to the treating Consultant.
Participate in emergency response, resuscitation and Code Blue activities as required.
Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety and critical care protocols.
Participate in handovers and ensure continuity of care between shifts.
Educate and communicate with patients' relatives regarding routine clinical updates, as directed by the Consultant.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory requirements and quality standards.
Participate in clinical audits, training programs, CME activities and quality improvement initiatives.
