Key Responsibilities
Develop 2D and 3D designs using CAD software based on customer or engineering requirements.
Create VMC machining programs using CAM software.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and technical specifications.
Prepare machining process plans and operation sheets.
Select suitable cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
Set machining coordinates, tool offsets, and work offsets.
Optimize machining programs to improve cycle time and productivity.
Conduct trial runs and make necessary program modifications.
Ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve machining issues.
Maintain program backups and machining documentation.
Troubleshoot programming and machining-related problems.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce machining time and increase efficiency.
Required Skills
Robust knowledge of VMC programming and machining operations.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, PowerMill, NX CAM, or similar).
Positive understanding of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds.
Understanding of fixture design and machining processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Positive communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
