Senior Oracle Database Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior Oracle Database Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for developing, testing, and executing data scrubbing scripts across our Oracle database infrastructure. Reporting to the Lead Oracle Database Engineer, you will play a central role in turning technical architecture designs into robust PL/SQL code that renders sensitive data secure and untraceable.Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain high-performance SQL and PL/SQL scripts, routines, and packages to execute data scrubbing and masking operations.Analyze database tables, columns, and data relationships to identify and map PII, PCI, and PHI elements for obfuscation.Execute unit tests and validation procedures to confirm data scrubbing accuracy without breaking upstream application features or data integrity.Remediate database security vulnerabilities and code flaws flagged by SAST pre- and post-deployment scans.Optimize script execution times and database queries to handle large data volumes in non-production and staging environments.Collaborate with QA engineers and agile team members to resolve defects, track bugs in backlog management tools, and refine implementations.Required Qualifications 5+ years of core experience in Oracle Database development, proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and package development.Direct hands-on experience implementing data masking, scrubbing, or obfuscation routines for sensitive data types (PII, PCI, PHI).Solid performance tuning skills, including analyzing execution plans, indexing strategies, and bulk data processing techniques.Solid understanding of database security principles, user permissions, and secure coding practices.Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery models using daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
