The work involves cultural documentation, and public education around traditions such as Theyyam, Yakshi worship, and other regional folk practices, drawing on scholarly sources alongside fieldwork.

We're looking for someone to take full ownership of our social media presence, and to produce documentary-style content that brings Indian heritage and folklore to a wider audience.

What You'll Do
Own our YouTube channel end-to-end: content calendar, filming/coordination, editing, publishing, SEO/metadata, thumbnails, and channel growth strategy
Manage social media (Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and others) — including a Reels series covering folklore topics
Produce documentaries and long-form content on history, rituals, and folklore, working from scholarly and field research
Plan and shoot on location at temples and heritage sites across India, coordinating with historians, and local communities
Edit video content (short-form and long-form) to a professional, engaging standard
Track performance across platforms and adjust content strategy based on analytics
Collaborate with the trust's leadership on messaging, sensitivity around religious/cultural content,



and campaign tie-ins (e.g., restoration fundraising, donation drives)

What We're Looking For
Proven experience creating and managing content for social platforms (portfolio/channel required)
Robust video shooting and editing skills
Experience with or solid interest in documentary-style storytelling
Familiarity with culture, temple traditions, and/or English language is a solid plus
Comfortable traveling to temple sites for shoots, including early-morning or ritual-timed shoots
Self-directed — able to plan a content calendar and execute independently
Sensitivity and respect when filming religious sites, rituals, and communities
Basic understanding of social media growth tactics, SEO, and analytics tools

Nice to Have
Experience with drone videography
Background in journalism, anthropology, history, or religious studies
