About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Australian Bookkeeper / Accountant with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in Australian accounting and bookkeeping.

The role is focused purely on accounts and bookkeeping for an Australian service-based business. The candidate should be confident in handling day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations and accounting activities independently in Xero.

Candidates who have previously worked with Australian NDIS providers, disability services, healthcare, aged care or similar service-based businesses will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting in Xero
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Processing supplier bills and customer invoices
Payment allocation and reconciliation
Reviewing and maintaining accurate ledger accounts
General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations
GST coding and reconciliation
Assisting with BAS preparation and supporting workpapers
Month-end accounting and reconciliations
Reviewing outstanding receivables and payables
Identifying and resolving unreconciled or incorrectly coded transactions
Maintaining proper accounting records and supporting documentation




Communicating with Australian clients regarding accounting queries and missing information

Required Skills & Experience
2 to 3 years of Australian Accounting / Bookkeeping experience
Robust hands-on experience with Xero
Good understanding of Australian accounting and bookkeeping practices
Positive knowledge of GST and BAS
Robust experience in Bank Reconciliation, AP and AR
Valuable understanding of General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills mandatory
Ability to communicate professionally with Australian clients
Ability to independently draft and respond to client emails
Robust attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage work independently and meet deadlines

NDIS-related invoicing and payment reconciliations
High-volume Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
Service-based Australian businesses

Previous NDIS accounting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
