About Intentpost

Intentpost is a direct mail platform built for modern sales teams. It enables companies to send postcards, notecards, gifts, and other physical touches automatically based on signals from their CRM—and measure the impact on their sales pipeline.

Intentpost already has live customers and a working product. In 2026, it was acquired by Mailin.ai, and we are now rebuilding the platform with the goal of creating the best technology product in the direct-mail space.

This is a zero-to-one rebuild, and we are looking for someone who wants to own it from the ground up.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on CTO who can act as the technical owner of Intentpost.

You will not simply manage an engineering team. You will build the product yourself. You will work closely with the founder and an existing UI/UX designer, and build an initial engineering team around you.

You will have complete ownership of the technical direction. The founder is not a developer and will give you autonomy over architecture, technology choices, engineering practices, infrastructure, and technical hiring.

The existing product was built quickly by a single developer using modern AI-assisted development tools. It works and has paying customers, but it was not designed for scale. One of your first responsibilities will be to assess the existing platform and determine what should be rebuilt, replaced, or retained.

What You'll Do

- Own the architecture, technology stack, infrastructure, and overall technical strategy
- Be highly hands-on and write production code regularly
- Lead the technical rebuild of the existing platform from its current foundation
- Build and lead the initial engineering team
- Own engineering hiring end-to-end, including defining roles, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
- Work closely with the UI/UX designer to turn product concepts into shipped features
- Partner directly with the founder on product and technical decisions
- Build reliable integrations with CRMs, third-party platforms, and vendor APIs
- Design the platform to handle increasing customer and transaction volume
- Own reliability, security,



infrastructure, and engineering costs
- Identify meaningful opportunities to use AI within the product and development process
- Establish engineering standards around architecture, code quality, testing, deployment, monitoring, and security
- Make pragmatic decisions about what to build, what not to build, and when to move quickly versus when to invest in the foundation

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a builder and technical owner, not a career engineering manager.

You should have

- Significant experience building and shipping software products
- Experience taking a product from zero to one, ideally through the transition to paying customers
- Previous experience as a CTO, Technical Co-founder, Founding Engineer, or equivalent senior technical leader
- A robust track record of being the most senior technical person responsible for a product
- Current hands-on development experience and a desire to continue coding
- Experience hiring and building small, high-performing engineering teams
- Strong full-stack capabilities, or sufficient technical breadth to own the architecture and hire effectively around your strengths
- Deep, current experience building with AI and AI-assisted development tools
- Experience designing and integrating with third-party APIs and external systems
- Strong product judgment and the ability to make technical decisions independently
- Comfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment
- The ability to take complete ownership of technical outcomes without needing day-to-day oversight

Domain Experience We Especially Value

Experience building technology in or around the direct-mail ecosystem is highly valuable.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on products involving:

- Direct mail or postal technology




- Print & mail automation
- Mail fulfillment
- Personalized or variable-data printing
- Address/data enrichment
- Marketing automation
- CRM integrations
- Sales or marketing technology
- Campaign automation
- Logistics or fulfillment platforms

You do not need to have worked specifically in direct mail, but experience in a related domain where software interacts with physical-world operations, third-party vendors, or high-volume transactions is a strong plus.

Nice to Have

- Experience building SaaS products for sales or marketing teams
- Experience with CRM platforms and integrations
- Experience in direct mail, postal, print, fulfillment, logistics, e-commerce, payments, or advertising technology
- Enterprise security and compliance experience
- Previous CTO or technical co-founder experience
- Experience scaling an early-stage product from initial customers to significant usage

Technology The current platform is JavaScript-based, but we are not committed to the existing stack.

You will have the freedom to evaluate the current architecture and decide what technology foundation makes sense for the next version of Intentpost.

We care more about sound technical judgment and the ability to build and scale a product than a particular list of technologies.

- You prefer having a defined backlog and detailed technical direction
- You need a manager to make the major technical decisions
- You are primarily looking for the CTO title rather than the responsibility that comes with it
- You are uncomfortable rebuilding or challenging an existing product when the foundation isn't right
