Role PurposeThe BIM Manager is responsible for establishing, managing and maintaining BIM standards, workflows and multidisciplinary coordination across projects. The role combines strategic BIM oversight with hands-on project coordination, ensuring that models are accurate, coordinated, efficient and aligned with project delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Establish and maintain BIM standards, templates, protocols, model structures, naming conventions and documentation procedures across projects.
2. Set up project BIM environments, including worksharing, coordinates, model linking, consultant integration and model exchange requirements.
3. Prepare and implement BIM Execution Plans, defining model responsibilities, Levels of Development, information requirements and coordination procedures.
4. Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination between architecture, structure,
MEPF, medical equipment and specialist consultant models.
5. Undertake and manage model federation, clash detection, issue tracking and coordination reviews using Revit, Navisworks and other relevant platforms.
6. Review architectural and consultant models for accuracy, completeness, model health, coordination integrity and compliance with project standards.
7. Track identified clashes and coordination issues, assign responsibilities and follow through until resolution.
8. Ensure consistency between BIM models, drawings, schedules, details and other project documentation.
9. Support project teams with BIM workflows, technical troubleshooting, model management and effective documentation practices.
10. Conduct periodic BIM audits and quality-control reviews, identify recurring issues and improve office-wide BIM processes.
11. Maintain and develop Revit templates, families, shared parameters, libraries and other digital resources.
12. Mentor architects and project teams in BIM best practices and provide training where required.
13. Coordinate with external consultants regarding model exchange, deliverables, Common Data Environment workflows and information protocols.
14. Support project mobilisation, major submissions and construction-stage coordination where BIM input is required.
15. Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and improved digital workflows that enhance project quality and efficiency.
- Experience with healthcare, institutional or other technically complex buildings is an advantage.
We are looking for someone who can own BIM quality and coordination across projects, not just produce models.
