(Backend Engineer – Python & GoLang (Identity & Access Management)

About the Role: We are hiring a backend engineer to work closely with a bank's platform engineering team. You will help build secure systems that manage who can log in and what they can access across internal tools. This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering and security/identity management.

What You Will Do:

- Build and maintain backend services using GoLang and Python
- Design and implement role-based (RBAC) and attribute-based (ABAC) access control for multiple business units (multi-tenant setup)
- Connect the system with company login systems like OIDC, SAML, OAuth2, SCIM, and Active Directory/LDAP
- Build REST APIs and manage database changes (migrations) using PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy
- Use Redis and Celery to handle background tasks and async jobs
- Follow strict security practices: audit logs, safe handling of secrets/passwords, and least-privilege access design
- Work in 2-week sprints with the bank's in-house engineering team
- Write clear documentation and support knowledge transfer

Must-Have Skills:

- 4+ years of backend engineering experience




- Strong hands-on experience in GoLang and Python
- Experience with SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL
- Proven experience designing RBAC/ABAC systems for multiple tenants
- Experience integrating identity systems: OIDC, SAML 2.0, OAuth2, SCIM, LDAP/Active Directory
- Experience with Redis, Celery (or similar async task queues)
- Solid understanding of REST API design and database migrations
- Security-first mindset: audit logging, secrets management, OWASP basics, least-privilege design

Good to Have:

- Understanding of LLM gateways, token usage tracking, and cost tracking
- Experience in BFSI (banking/finance) or other regulated industries
- Awareness of PII (personal data) handling and data-residency rules
- Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana

Work Environment & Compliance:

- Work will happen on the bank's systems, following the bank's access rules
- Must follow the bank's security, privacy, and change-management policies
- Background verification and signing an NDA is mandatory
- No data can be taken outside the bank's systems
