Asst Mgr- SQI Sheetmetal Chakan Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives for sheet metal parts including stampings, weldments, assemblies, and bracketry components. Ensure compliance with defined quality standards, inspection criteria, and customer requirements. Support supplier capability enhancement in sheet metal manufacturing processes, welding, surface treatment, and related special processes.

Participate in supplier assessments and development programs to improve quality, delivery, and process capability. Monitor supplier quality KPIs such as Supplier PPM, rejection trends, warranty issues, defect phenomena, and production loss incidents. Lead supplier concern resolution through structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.).

Ensure timely implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions. Support periodic supplier performance reviews and follow-up on improvement actions. Escalate recurring quality concerns and drive sustainable countermeasures with suppliers.

Drive APQP activities for recent component development in coordination with sourcing, supplier, design, and manufacturing teams. Review and approve PPAP documentation to ensure readiness for production.



Monitor supplier readiness against project timelines and milestone requirements.

Evaluate and control supplier process, tooling, and material changes through established change management processes. Maintain supplier quality reports, action trackers, and performance dashboards. Support digitalization initiatives related to supplier quality monitoring and concern tracking.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability improvement, and supplier performance enhancement. Preferred Industries Automobile Education Qualification Bachelor of Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical; Bachelor of Engineering in Automobile General Experience 8-12 Years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, or Manufacturing Quality, with significant exposure to Sheet Metal commodities.
