Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SCM Coordinator to manage and coordinate day-to-day shipment planning, dispatch, transportation, and logistics operations.

The role will focus on ensuring timely movement of customer shipments, coordinating with warehouse and transportation teams, monitoring delivery progress, and proactively managing potential delays and delivery risks. The position will also be responsible for maintaining effective coordination with transport vendors, third-party logistics providers, drivers, and relevant business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of transportation and distribution processes, hands-on experience in logistics or supply chain operations, and the ability to effectively manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role is based in Chennai and operates on a 3:30 AM to 12:30 PM shift.

Key Responsibilities

? Shipment Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate daily dispatch and shipment activities based on customer orders and delivery schedules.

- Take effective handover from the day shift covering active loads, delivery bookings, potential delays, and pending follow-ups.

- Plan and arrange transportation for customer shipments from factory to destination.

- Ensure timely availability of vehicles and required transportation resources.

- Maintain updated contact details of drivers, transport partners,



and relevant logistics representatives.

- Record, monitor, and report shipment delays to identify potential delivery risks and initiate timely corrective actions.

- Maintain effective coordination with relevant representatives across border locations and international transit points where applicable.

- Coordinate closely with warehouse teams to ensure packing, loading, and dispatch readiness.

- Develop a robust understanding of business operations and ensure timely fulfilment of customer delivery commitments.

? Transportation Management

- Liaise with transport vendors and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth shipment execution.

- Monitor vehicle movement and shipment progress from dispatch through delivery.

- Track transportation activities and proactively identify potential delivery disruptions.

- Resolve transportation delays, vehicle issues, and delivery-related challenges in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

- Ensure effective communication between factories, warehouses, transporters, drivers, and destination teams.

- Support optimisation of freight utilisation and transportation costs.

- Maintain accurate shipment and transportation records for operational tracking and reporting.

? Supply Chain Operations & SAP

- Utilise SAP to support logistics and supply chain activities and maintain accurate operational information.

- Ensure timely updates and coordination of shipment-related information within relevant systems.

- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth flow of information across the order, dispatch, transportation, and delivery cycle.

- Support logistics reporting and provide timely updates on shipment status, delays, and delivery risks.

- Identify operational bottlenecks and support continuous improvement across transportation and distribution processes.

? Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

- Maintain strong working relationships with transport vendors, logistics partners, warehouse teams, factory teams,



and internal stakeholders.

- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely execution of customer commitments.

- Escalate critical shipment delays and operational issues to the appropriate stakeholders.

- Ensure clear and timely communication during shift handovers to maintain continuity of operations.

- Build effective relationships with logistics partners to support reliable transportation and delivery performance.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 4–6 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation, or supply chain operations.

- Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, factory, or FMCG environment is preferred.

- Experience handling shipment planning, dispatch coordination, transportation management, and delivery tracking.

- Candidates with exposure to night/early morning shift operations will be preferred.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of transportation, logistics, dispatch, and distribution processes.

- Hands-on experience with SAP and good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics reporting.

- Strong understanding of shipment planning, vehicle coordination, and delivery tracking.

- Experience working with transport vendors and third-party logistics providers.

- Strong coordination and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.

- Knowledge of freight management and shipment tracking systems.

- Ability to monitor vehicle movement, identify delivery risks, and take timely corrective action.

- Solid ownership of shipment execution and customer delivery commitments.

- Candidates with previous FMCG industry experience and exposure to night-shift operations will be preferred.
