Experience: 2-4 Years. Relevant experience in content writing/accessibility preferred

We are looking for a detail-oriented Alt Text Writer to create clear, accurate, and context-appropriate alternative text for images and visual content.

Key Responsibilities

- Write alt text for images, illustrations, charts, diagrams, and other visual content.
- Understand the purpose and context of visuals and describe only relevant information.
- Ensure decorative images are identified appropriately.
- Review and improve existing alt text.
- Follow WCAG accessibility guidelines and project-specific style guides.
- Ensure alt text does not reveal answers in assessment/question items.
- Flag complex visuals requiring extended descriptions.
- Collaborate with Content Developers, Instructional Designers, SMEs,



and QA teams.

Required Skills
- Excellent written English and strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of Alt Text, Screen Readers, Digital Accessibility and WCAG.
- Ability to differentiate between decorative and informative images.
- Strong comprehension and analytical skills.
- Ability to write concise, meaningful image descriptions.
- Experience with educational, e-learning, digital, or web content is a plus.

Preferred
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2
- Understanding of how screen readers interpret alt text.
- Experience with accessibility tools.
- Experience writing alt text for charts, graphs, tables, diagrams, and complex visuals.
