Its flagship brand, Varanchi, offers handpicked pure silk sarees such as Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Tussar, and other traditional weaves through a boutique in Jayanagar and varanchi.com. The company sources inventory directly from weaving clusters across India, focusing on weave quality, drape, and finish.

A second brand, ila by Varanchi, provides semi-linen, semi-silk, and cotton sarees for everyday wear, primarily sold online.

Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting practices and statutory regulations across our group entities. We run multiple businesses under a few registered entities, and this role will own the accounting and legal compliance for all of them.

Responsibilities

- Daily accounting of transactions, including stock inward and outward.
- Reconciliation of vendors and customers accounts.
- Processing payments to vendors and managing salary payments.
- Conducting month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Preparing income tax returns and ensuring timely tax filings.
- Filing and reconciling GST returns.
- Collaborating with auditors for annual audits and implementing their recommendations.
- Stock reconciliation and stock audit, including a weekly visit to our shop in Jayanagar.
- Owning accounting and statutory compliance across all our entities — you'll be the single point of accountability for the group, not just one set of books.





What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Expertise in Zoho Books and QuickBooks Online.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including GST.
- Proficiency in GST return filing and income tax return preparation.
- Comfortable handling multiple entities and keeping each one clean and audit-ready.

Qualifications

- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including experience with ledgers, reconciliations, and financial closing.
- Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Knowledge of Indian taxation and regulatory compliance, including GST, TDS, and audit support.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP or POS systems commonly used in retail or e-commerce environments.
- Ability to analyze financial data, prepare management reports, and present insights to stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations, sourcing, and leadership teams.
- Relevant professional qualification such as semi qualified CA/CMA/ACCA, or a bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance with substantial experience.
- Prior experience in retail, FMCG, or e-commerce finance management is preferred.
