About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager – US IT Staffing to take ownership of our existing client accounts and drive significant account growth.
This role is ideal for a relationship-driven staffing professional who knows how to turn existing client relationships into new business opportunities, job requirements, interviews, and placements.
The primary responsibility is not simply to maintain accounts. You will be expected to actively grow them by developing new relationships, uncovering hiring plans, generating new requirements, expanding into additional departments, and increasing revenue.
You should be comfortable speaking with Hiring Managers, Directors, VPs, HR, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, MSP/VMS teams, and other decision-makers and have the ability to turn those relationships into ongoing staffing opportunities.
What You'll Do
Grow Existing Client Accounts
- Take ownership of a portfolio of existing US IT staffing accounts.
- Develop and execute an account-growth strategy for each client.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with existing clients and key stakeholders.
- Identify accounts with significant growth potential and create plans to increase revenue.
- Expand relationships beyond existing contacts to reach additional hiring managers and decision-makers.
- Identify opportunities to expand into new departments, teams, technologies, locations, and business units.
- Conduct regular client calls, meetings, and business reviews.
Generate New IT Staffing Requirements
- Proactively contact clients to uncover current and future hiring needs.
- Generate new job requirements from existing accounts.
- Understand clients' upcoming projects, technology initiatives, team expansions, backfills, and workforce plans.
- Ask the right questions to uncover requirements before they formally become open positions.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of upcoming staffing opportunities.
- Re-engage dormant or underutilized accounts and convert them into active business.
- Follow up consistently with clients to turn conversations into requirements.
Build Relationships With Decision-Makers
- Develop relationships with:
- Hiring Managers
- IT Directors and VPs
- CIO/CTO organizations
- Talent Acquisition teams
- HR
- Procurement
- Vendor Management
- MSP/VMS contacts
- Map client organizations and identify additional stakeholders who influence staffing decisions.
- Create multiple points of contact within each account to reduce dependency on a single relationship.
- Become a trusted staffing partner who understands the client's business and hiring objectives.
Drive Placements & Revenue
- Work closely with recruiting teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and prioritized.
- Communicate client expectations, technical requirements, timelines, rates, interview processes, and candidate profiles to recruiters.
- Monitor submissions, interviews, feedback, offers, and placements.
- Remove obstacles that prevent requirements from converting into placements.
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the hiring process.
- Identify opportunities to increase placement volume and account revenue.
Account Expansion & Business Development
- Penetrate existing accounts to uncover new opportunities.
- Introduce additional staffing capabilities and services where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for contract, contract-to-hire, direct hire, and other staffing solutions.
- Research client organizations to identify:
- New projects
- Acquisitions
- Expansions
- New technology initiatives
- Leadership changes
- Hiring trends
- New departments or locations
- Turn existing relationships into introductions to new decision-makers.
Rate & Contract Negotiation
- Negotiate bill rates, margins, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Understand client rate structures and budget expectations.
- Work with internal leadership to maintain profitable business.
- Manage rate discussions professionally while protecting relationships and margins.
CRM, Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain accurate account and contact information in the CRM/ATS.
- Track client interactions, meetings, opportunities, requirements, submissions, interviews, and placements.
- Maintain accurate account pipelines and revenue forecasts.
- Develop account plans for key clients.
- Report regularly on account performance, opportunities, and growth.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in US IT Staffing in Account Management, Client Management, Staffing Sales, or Business Development.
- Demonstrated success growing existing US staffing accounts.
- Proven ability to generate new job requirements from existing clients.
- Strong relationships with US-based clients, hiring managers, or staffing decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of the US IT staffing industry and recruitment lifecycle.
- Experience with contract, contract-to-hire, and/or direct-hire staffing.
- Experience negotiating rates, margins, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong follow-up and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.
- Comfortable making phone calls, conducting virtual meetings, and proactively reaching out to clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with MSP/VMS programs.
- Experience with platforms such as Fieldglass, Beeline, or similar VMS systems.
- Experience working with direct clients.
- Existing relationships with US IT hiring managers and decision-makers.
- Experience with JobDiva, Bullhorn, Salesforce, or similar CRM/ATS systems.
- Experience supporting staffing needs across areas such as:

- Learn the existing client portfolio and account history.
- Identify high-potential, dormant, and underpenetrated accounts.
- Understand current revenue, placements, contacts, and historical requirements.
- Begin reconnecting with existing clients and key contacts.
- Develop an initial account-growth strategy.
First 60 Days
- Establish consistent communication with key accounts.
- Expand relationships beyond existing contacts.
- Identify upcoming hiring needs and projects.
- Generate new staffing opportunities.
- Begin penetrating additional departments and hiring teams.
First 90 Days
- Build a measurable pipeline of new requirements.
- Reactivate dormant accounts.
- Generate new job orders from existing clients.
- Develop multiple relationships within strategic accounts.
- Begin producing measurable placement and revenue growth.
Long-Term The goal is to turn existing accounts into larger, deeper, multi-department relationships that consistently generate new requirements and revenue. We want an Account Manager who doesn't wait for the phone to ring.
You should be proactively calling clients, building relationships, uncovering hiring plans, creating opportunities, and working with recruiters to turn those opportunities into placements.

Compensation
Competitive base salary + performance-based commission/bonus structure.
Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated ability to grow US IT staffing accounts.
