Role Overview

T he Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the hospital’s technology strategy, digital transformation, healthcare IT infrastructure, and innovation initiatives. The role will ensure that technology enhances patient care, operational efficiency, clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and data security. The CTO will oversee Electronic Health Records (EHR), hospital information systems, telemedicine platforms, medical device integration, cybersecurity, data analytics, and AI-driven healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement the hospital’s technology vision and digital roadmap aligned with clinical and operational goals.
Drive digital transformation initiatives across clinical and administrative functions.
Evaluate emerging healthcare technologies such as:
AI-assisted diagnostics
Remote patient monitoring
Clinical decision support systems
Healthcare data analytics
Collaborate with the leadership team to integrate technology into strategic planning and growth initiatives .

2. Hospital IT Infrastructure & Systems

Oversee implementation and management of:
Hospital Information System (HIS)
Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
Patient management systems
Pharmacy management systems
Billing & insurance integration systems

3. Cybersecurity & Data Governance

Develop hospital-wide cybersecurity policies and frameworks .
Protect sensitive patient health data and hospital systems .




Implement security measures aligned with standards such as:
National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH)
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments .

4. Digital Health & Innovation
Lead initiatives in:

Telemedicine platforms
Mobile health apps
AI-based diagnostics
Remote patient monitoring
IoT-enabled medical devices
Smart hospital technologies

5. Clinical Technology Integration

Ensure seamless integration between medical devices and hospital IT systems .
Work closely with clinical teams to implement clinical decision support systems .
Support departments like:
Radiology
Cardiology
Pathology
Intensive Care Units (ICU)

6. Data Analytics & AI

Develop hospital data strategy and analytics capabilities .
Implement dashboards for:
Clinical performance metrics
Patient outcomes
Operational efficiency
Financial analytics
Leverage AI and machine learning for predictive healthcare insights .

7. Vendor & Technology Partner Management

Evaluate and manage relationships with:
Healthcare software vendors
Cloud service providers
Medical technology companies
Lead procurement for hospital IT infrastructure.




Ensure technology solutions meet cost, performance, and compliance standards .

8. IT Operations & Support

Lead the hospital’s IT operations team .
Ensure 24/7 uptime for mission-critical systems .
Manage:
Data centers
Cloud infrastructure
Network infrastructure
Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

9. Budgeting & Financial Planning

Prepare and manage the technology budget .
Evaluate ROI for digital health investments.
Optimize technology costs while improving service delivery.

10. Team Leadership

Build and lead high-performing teams across:
IT infrastructure
Software development
Data analytics
Cybersecurity
Clinical informatics
Mentor teams and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement .

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Computer Science
Information Technology
MCA

Experience
15+ years in technology leadership
7+ years in healthcare technology leadership
Experience working in:
Hospitals
Healthcare technology companies
Digital health startups
Healthcare consulting firms

Technical Skills

Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
EHR / EMR systems
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
Cybersecurity frameworks
Healthcare interoperability standards
