Responsibilities

Roles & responsibilities

Join a dynamic team supporting the growth of our Family Office practice. As a Senior Associate based outside Canada, you will work closely with the Montreal team to deliver high-quality bookkeeping, accounting, and tax compliance services for investment companies, trusts, and related entities. Your strong organizational skills and resourcefulness will enable you to manage multiple mandates efficiently,



ensuring superior service under the supervision of experienced colleagues.

•Review and validate bookkeeping performed by the accounting clerks/bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and compliance •Handle investment accounting and reconciliations •For more complex clients, perform bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online or CaseWare: •Record cash transactions (inflows and outflows) •Reconcile bank accounts •Record purchase/sale invoices •Record investment portfolio transactions (purchases, sales, distributions, etc.) •Prepare trial balances •Maintain amortization schedules for tangible capital assets •Reconcile investment income with tax slips •Review inter-company transactions to ensure accuracy •Import data into CaseWare •Prepare and/or review tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T4-RL1, T5) and related documentation •Complete various forms and administrative documents as needed •Monitor deadlines and ensure timely follow-ups •Collaborate and coordinate closely with the Consultant and Director in charge of the mandate in the Montreal team •Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and support service growth •Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior offshore staff,

Qualifications

This role is for you if you have the below

Educational qualifications

•Post-secondary degree in accounting, taxation or a related field •Work Experience •Minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably from Financial Services and/ Fund accounting •Established experience in the accounting cycle and balance sheet reconciliation •Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Caseware, iFirm and MS Office Suite •Solid understanding of investment accounting, particularly: •Marketable securities and private investments •Knowledge of limited partnerships and flow-through shares is an asset •Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple mandates simultaneously, and meet deadlines •Cutting-edge, adaptable, proactive and detail-oriented

Preferred technical & functional skills

•Strong analytical and advisory skills. •Able to work in fast moving and demanding environment. •Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (including strong presentation skills). •Able to adapt quickly to use new technologies. •Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and to work proactively with minimal instruction. •Prioritization and time management skills. •Good communication and interpersonal skills.
