Workday Talent & Performance Consultant
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Talent & Performance Consultant to lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of Workday Talent Management and Performance Management solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong functional knowledge of Workday Talent, Performance, Goals, Career Development, Succession Planning, and related HCM processes, along with the ability to partner effectively with HR, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
The consultant will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable Workday solutions, ensuring best practices, data integrity, system usability, and alignment with organizational talent strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Talent & Performance
- Lead the configuration and ongoing support of Workday Talent Management and Performance Management modules.

- Design and implement talent and performance processes in Workday based on business requirements.
- Analyze existing HR processes and recommend Workday best practices and process improvements.
- Support annual and periodic performance review cycles, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and post-cycle support.
- Develop and maintain business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, notifications, questionnaires, and other Workday configurations as required.
Business Analysis & Consulting
- Partner with HR, Talent Management, Learning, Compensation, and business leaders to understand requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
- Conduct requirement-gathering sessions, process workshops, and solution-design discussions.
- Prepare functional specifications, process documentation, and configuration documentation.
- Provide expert guidance on Workday capabilities, limitations, and recommended approaches.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved employee experience.
Testing & Implementation
- Lead or participate in Workday implementation and enhancement projects.
- Develop test scenarios, test scripts, and validation plans.
- Perform unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Coordinate defect resolution with technical and functional teams.
- Support Workday releases by assessing new functionality and determining business impact.
Reporting & Data
- Create and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and talent-related analytics.
- Support data validation and reconciliation activities.
- Work with stakeholders to develop meaningful talent and performance metrics.
- Ensure data security and appropriate access to sensitive employee and performance information.
Stakeholder & Production Support
- Provide Level 2/Level 3 functional support for Workday Talent and Performance issues.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Work closely with HRIS, IT, HR Operations, and other Workday functional teams.
- Develop user guides, training materials, and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–8+ years of experience in Workday HCM ,
with significant experience in Talent and Performance.
- Hands-on experience configuring Workday Performance Management and Talent Management .
- Solid understanding of HR talent processes, including performance management, goal setting, succession planning, talent reviews, and career development.
- Experience with Workday business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, security, reporting, and integrations.
- Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, and production environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday certification in Talent, Performance Management, or related HCM areas .
- Experience with Workday modules such as Core HCM, Compensation, Learning, Recruiting, or Skills Cloud.
- Experience with Workday Extend or integrations is a plus.
- Experience supporting global organizations and complex HR processes.
- Knowledge of Workday quarterly releases and release-management processes.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum or other structured implementation methodologies.
