Job Description – Endoscopy In-Charge / Endoscopy Nurse In-Charge

Position: Endoscopy In-Charge

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Endoscopy Unit , ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
n
- Handle patient preparation, pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure care .
n
- Coordinate and assist doctors during various endoscopic procedures.
n
- Ensure proper patient identification, consent, documentation and safety protocols .
n
- Manage the endoscopy procedure room, equipment and accessories , ensuring readiness before every procedure.
n
- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment as per hospital protocols.
n




- Maintain adequate availability of consumables, instruments and emergency equipment .
n
- Coordinate with Consultants, Anesthesia, Nursing, CSSD, OT and other support departments .
n
- Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient records and daily activity reports.
n
- Monitor infection-control practices and maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care .
n
- Manage and guide the Endoscopy nursing team, including duty allocation, training and performance monitoring .
n
- Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, NABH standards and infection-control guidelines .
n
- Handle patient/attendant queries and ensure a positive patient experience.
n
- Monitor scheduling and utilization of the Endoscopy Unit and minimize delays in procedures.
n
- Report any equipment issues, incidents or operational concerns to the concerned authority.

Candidate Profile

n

n
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM with relevant Endoscopy experience.
n
- Prior experience working as an Endoscopy Nurse is mandatory.
n
- Should have solid hands-on knowledge of endoscopy procedures, patient management and endoscopy equipment .
n
- Should be capable of independently managing the Endoscopy Unit and nursing team .
n
- Good communication, coordination and leadership skills.
n
- Experience in a hospital/tertiary care setup preferred.
n
- Relevant Endoscopy experience: 7+ years preferred.
n
