Job Opportunity for a Quality Head- Electric Vehicles (Commercial)- Hyderabad

Role Overview

n

The Quality Head is responsible for establishing and driving the overall quality strategy across the

n

plant. The role ensures adherence to customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal

n

quality benchmarks while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, defect prevention, and

n

operational excellence.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

1. Quality Strategy & Leadership

n

 Develop and implement the plant's quality vision, strategy, and roadmap

n

 Lead the quality function to achieve zero-defect and zero-customer-complaint goals

n

 Align quality objectives with overall business and operational goals

n

2. Quality Assurance & Control

n

 Establish robust quality assurance systems for incoming, in-process, and finished goods

n

 Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF/TS standards

n

 Drive standardization of quality processes and documentation

n

3. Customer Quality Management

n

 Ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans)

n

 Handle customer complaints and lead root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions

n

(CAPA)

n

 Maintain strong customer relationships through consistent quality performance

n

4. Supplier Quality Management

n

 Evaluate and develop supplier quality systems

n

 Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans

n

 Ensure incoming material quality meets defined specifications

n

5. Process Quality & Continuous Improvement

n





 Drive process capability improvement and reduce variation

n

 Lead initiatives like Six Sigma, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and Lean Quality tools

n

 Promote a culture of continuous improvement across all departments

n

6. Audits & Compliance

n

 Lead internal and external audits (ISO, customer audits, regulatory audits)

n

 Ensure full compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental standards

n

 Maintain all quality certifications and documentation

n

7. Cost of Quality (CoQ) Management

n

 Monitor and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) including scrap, rework, and warranty costs

n

 Analyze quality-related data and drive cost optimization initiatives

n

 Track KPIs related to defects, rejections, and customer returns

n

8. Team Leadership & Development

n

 Build, lead, and mentor the quality team across functions

n

 Conduct training programs on quality tools and systems

n

 Drive performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement

n

Qualifications & Experience

n

 Education: B.E / B.Tech (Mechanical / Electrical / Production or related field)

n

 Experience: 25+ years in manufacturing quality, with at least 5–8 years in a leadership role

n

(preferably automotive or bus manufacturing)

n

Key Skills & Competencies

n

 Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (ISO, IATF, etc.)

n

 Expertise in quality tools (Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D)

n

 Excellent analytical and root cause problem-solving skills

n

 Robust leadership and stakeholder management abilities

n

 Effective communication and cross-functional coordination
