Role Purpose
The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical and fabrication drawings for column internals and process equipment, from RFQ/engineering inputs through manufacturing and final documentation.
The person will work closely with Sales, Process Engineering, Production, Purchase and Quality to ensure drawings are technically correct, manufacturable and delivered on time chat
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Mechanical Design & Drafting
Prepare detailed manufacturing/fabrication drawings for:
Mist eliminators / demisters
Vane packs
Sieve, valve and other trays
Liquid distributors
Support grids
Packing supports
Bed limiters
Column internals
Coalescers and other separation equipment
Prepare GA, assembly, fabrication and part drawings.
Prepare BOMs and material specifications.
Develop drawings from customer drawings, sketches, specifications and site measurements.
Ensure proper tolerances, dimensions, weld details and material specifications.

Production Support
Work directly with fabrication and production teams.
Resolve drawing-related manufacturing issues.
Modify drawings based on production feedback.
Conduct drawing checks before release to production.
Ensure latest revision is always available on the shop floor.
D. Customer / Project Support
Review customer drawings and technical specifications.
Prepare technical drawings for approval.
Incorporate customer comments.
Maintain drawing revision history.
Support Sales/Projects during technical discussions when required.

MS Excel
Technical Knowledge
Candidate should understand:
SS304 / SS316 / SS316L and other stainless steels
Carbon steel
Duplex / special alloys – basic understanding
Sheet metal fabrication
Welding and fabrication processes
Flanges and bolting
Welding symbols
Dimensional tolerances
BOM preparation
Basic mechanical calculations
Knowledge of column internals / mass transfer equipment will be a major advantage.
