Job Purpose

To manage and ensure effective mechanical maintenance, machine erection & commissioning, plant utilities, energy conservation and maintenance projects, ensuring high equipment availability, minimum downtime and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Erection & Commissioning
Plan and supervise erection, installation and commissioning of current machines and equipment.
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and contractors for timely project execution.
Ensure machines are commissioned safely and as per required specifications.
Mechanical Maintenance & Plant Utilities
Manage preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
Ensure smooth functioning of HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting systems, compressors, chillers, cooling towers and other utilities.
Minimize machine downtime and ensure maximum equipment availability.
Projects & Energy Conservation
Identify and implement energy-saving and cost-reduction projects.
Analyze energy consumption and quantify potential savings.
Manage maintenance and engineering projects from planning through execution and commissioning.
Project Cost Estimation & Accounting
Prepare project cost estimates, budgets and material requirements.




Monitor project expenditure and ensure effective cost control.
Apply Life Cycle Costing (LCC) principles for project evaluation.
Inventory Management
Ensure availability of critical mechanical spares and maintenance materials.
Monitor inventory levels and optimize spare-parts consumption.
Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely procurement.
Team & Project Management
Define responsibilities and ownership for project activities.
Monitor project progress, timelines, quality and productivity.
Conduct regular project/status review meetings with stakeholders.
Identify project risks/issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and safety standards.
