Job Description of Nurse Educator

Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitator in the induction program & ensure that all nursing staff has undergone induction.
Assess & identify any learning need of staff in her area & then plan with Nursing Superintendent to organize & execute retraining for them.
Gives incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
Conducts code blue drills.
Keeps a record of in-service attendance of staff & motivate those with less attendance.
Conducts practical exams for trainees.
Coordinates with Doctors for in-service classes
Executes training programs for nurses.
Planning of the teaching programs including an orientation programs
Planning of ward / Intensive Care teaching programs with the cooperation and collaboration of Nursing Superintendent.
Prepare the Monthly Training Calendar.
Teaching of all nursing subjects with assistance from other members of the staff.




Conduct of periodical and terminal tests.
Organization of seminars, panel discussion, debates etc.
Any other duty that may be assigned to her from time to time relating to nursing education.
Daily patient round & education to the patients.
Counterchecking of inventory registers & other quality checklists.
Helps Nursing Superintendent in day today activities for the smooth functioning of the unit.
Gives incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
Conducts BLS training & ensures hands on practice.
Assess & identify any learning need of staff in her area &then; plan with Nursing Superintendent to organize & execute retraining for them.
Will be responsible for any other duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent from time to time.
