GIS & ICT Specialist / AWS–MIS–AI/ML–GIS Specialist

Role Overview

Responsible for designing and integrating GIS, ICT, MIS, AWS/IoT, satellite and AI/ML-based systems to support localized weather forecasting, crop monitoring, climate-risk assessment, early warning and farmer advisory services. The role will contribute to the technical design and DPR for an integrated digital agriculture/horticulture and weather intelligence platform.

Key Responsibilities
Develop GIS architecture, spatial layers and interactive GIS dashboards for agriculture, horticulture, weather and disaster-risk monitoring.
Map existing AWS, rain gauges, sensors and communication infrastructure and conduct spatial coverage/gap analysis.
Design MIS architecture integrating AWS, IMD, satellite, IoT and farmer databases through APIs/data pipelines.
Support integration of remote sensing/satellite data, NDVI, soil-moisture and crop-monitoring datasets.
Support AI/ML-based soil-moisture, pest, disease and climate-risk forecasting and integration with GIS/MIS dashboards.
Design technology requirements for weather forecasting, crop monitoring, pest/disease surveillance and climate-risk dashboards.




Undertake GIS-based site suitability analysis for AWS, rain gauges, sensors and communication infrastructure.
Prepare technical specifications, architecture, BoQ, procurement inputs and implementation roadmap for the DPR.
Support system interoperability, cybersecurity, scalability and sustainability requirements.

Qualification

Engineering / MCA / B.Tech / BE in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Electrical, Geoinformatics or equivalent, with minimum 3 years of relevant skilled experience.

Preferred Experience
GIS/ICT projects in Agriculture/Horticulture
Externally aided / donor-funded projects
AWS/weather-data, IoT and Agromet systems
GIS, remote sensing and spatial analytics
MIS modernization and API/system integration
AI/ML-enabled decision-support systems
Projects in Himachal Pradesh or other hill states

Ideal Candidate:

A GIS/ICT skilled with 5+ years of experience, preferably having 2 externally aided projects

2 agriculture/horticulture GIS/ICT projects

HP/Himalayan hill-state experience, enabling maximum alignment with the tender evaluation criteria.
