What You’ll Do
Commission and develop commercially viable non-fiction titles
Evaluate proposals and manuscripts for editorial, commercial, and market potential
Work closely with authors to develop manuscripts through the developmental editing stage.
Prepare editorial briefs and guide projects through every stage of the publishing process.
Work with in-house and freelance designers on cover concepts and other design requirements.
Work closely with the copyediting team to ensure editorial quality and consistency.
Liaise with production, marketing, sales, rights, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Prepare title positioning notes, cover briefs, back cover copy, and other editorial support material as required.
Stay updated on publishing trends and emerging prospects in the non-fiction market.
What We’re Looking For
4–6 years of editorial experience, preferably in trade publishing.
Prior experience in commissioning and developing non-fiction titles is highly preferred.
Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple titles simultaneously.
Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to editorial quality.
Positive attitude, solution-oriented approach, and ability to work in a rapid-paced publishing setting.
