Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Engineer with 5 years of experience in the sheet metal industry. The candidate should have solid practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, production drawings, welding, bending, cutting, and shop-floor activities. AutoCAD knowledge is required.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise daily sheet metal fabrication and production activities.
Read and understand AutoCAD drawings and engineering drawings.
Ensure fabrication work is carried out according to drawings and specifications.
Handle sheet metal processes including:
Laser cutting
CNC punching
Shearing
Press brake bending
Welding
Grinding
Drilling
Assembly
Check dimensions, bend angles, hole positions, fit-up, and material thickness.
Coordinate with fitters, welders, machine operators, and production workers.
Monitor production quality and minimize rework and rejection.
Identify and resolve fabrication-related problems on the shop floor.
Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.




Ensure proper utilization of material, manpower, and machines.
Maintain production schedules and ensure timely completion of jobs.
Follow company quality and safety procedures.

Required Skills
5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing.
Valuable knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
Ability to read and understand 2D engineering/fabrication drawings.
Knowledge of MS and SS sheet metal fabrication.
Knowledge of welding, bending, cutting, drilling, and grinding.
Understanding of sheet thickness, bend radius, tolerances, and measurements.
Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape, and angle gauge.
Positive shop-floor coordination and manpower-handling skills.

Qualification
ITI Fitter, with relevant sheet metal experience, OR
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
