Research Analysis (70%) and Technical Support Outreach (30%).
Responsibilities
Research Analysis (70%)
Conduct data exploration, quantitative research and provide customized analytical solutions and insights to meet project requirements
Conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for compound flooding and extreme events
Process long term meteorologic data (historic and projected) analysis along with stochastic modeling
Work with project teams to assess and organize complex data assets from a variety of sources for spatial modeling
Develop and execute Python and Google Earth Engine scripts for data acquisition, processing, and analysis
Advise staff and partners on geospatial analyses and visualizations on request
Contribute to written outputs, including peer-reviewed articles, WRI working papers, and blog posts
Technical Support Outreach (30%)
Develop data visualization dashboards, interactive web-maps, storyboards that help in communicating complex data and insights into captivating visual outputs




Prepare qualified visualizations to be leveraged in presentations, publications, and online platforms
Qualifications
Master's/PhD degree in Water Resources, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering or other related fields; Master's degree with experience or PhD preferred
4 to 7 years of relevant work experience in the Geospatial industry
Proficiency in GIS software including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Quantum GIS, MapInfo or similar
Proficiency in running hydrologic and hydraulic models (HEC suite/ EPA suite)
Experience in working with meteorological data (NetCDF, GRIB, DSS) and analysis using nco/cdo.
Experience working with climate projections (SSP scenarios)
Experience with coding, particularly Python, R, Javascript
Experience with Google Earth Engine is a solid plus
