Position : Civil Designer / Engineer

Primary Purpose of Job:

Stantec is an engineering design and remediation leader in global infrastructure, water resources, buildings, mining, power & dams, and oil & gas sectors. We provide, program management and technology solutions for the environmental, water, wastewater, energy and power markets in North Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions. Stantecs Vizag, India office is looking for a Civil designer to join our team and work in Water group.

The role is to support project managers/team leaders by providing civil design (CAD/BIM) support on site civil and land development projects to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations. Design and documentation of projects under the instructions and guidance of a Project Engineer using Civil Engineering techniques utilizing software such as, but not limited to Autodesk Civil3D and AutoCAD in accordance with Client standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:




Preparation of basic site layouts, general arrangement drawings, site grading, plans and profiles, cut and fill calculations, site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, erosion & sediment control etc.
Understand design and drafting systems and standards and design development process followed by clients and implement in work
Provide design guidance and instruction to drafting staff, and junior/intermediate designers
Travel offshore for training/in office work: Occasionally
Regularly interact and engage with other members of the discipline
Build and develop qualified profile both internally and externally
Adherence to qualified standards, ethics and Client quality procedures and standards
Design of projects under the instructions of a PL’s or Lead Engineer using Civil engineering software such as, but not limited to, Autodesk Civil3
