WE ARE HIRING | EXECUTIVE CHEF – PRE-OPENING

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to join the pre-opening team of The Kamala Resorts, Sakleshpur and lead the complete culinary setup from concept to opening and beyond.

This is a key leadership opportunity for a chef who enjoys building culinary operations from the ground up, creating menus, developing teams and establishing a strong food identity for a destination resort.

THE ROLE

The Executive Chef will take complete responsibility for the resort's culinary operations, including:
Pre-opening kitchen setup and commissioning
Kitchen equipment & operational planning
Menu creation and culinary concept development
Recipe standardization & food costing
Recruitment and training of the culinary brigade
Vendor development & local sourcing
Kitchen SOPs and food-safety systems
Restaurant, all-day dining & room service operations
Banquets, weddings & events
Wellness and healthy dining concepts
Food cost, inventory & wastage control




Mock services, soft opening & final opening readiness

CULINARY FOCUS

We are looking for a chef who can create a distinctive resort dining experience with an emphasis on:

Karnataka & Malnad cuisine | South Indian cuisine | Indian cuisine | International cuisine | Local & seasonal produce | Wellness cuisine | Contemporary resort dining

Knowledge of the Sakleshpur/Malnad culinary heritage and local ingredients will be a solid advantage.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
10–15 years of culinary experience
Minimum 3–5 years in an Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef role
Proven pre-opening hotel or resort experience preferred
Luxury hotel/resort experience strongly preferred
Robust leadership and team-building skills
Excellent knowledge of food costing and menu engineering
Strong understanding of food safety and FSSAI requirements
Experience with banquets, weddings and high-volume operations
