Job Title: Surface Grinder / Surface Grinding Operator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Surface Grinder to operate and maintain surface grinding machines to achieve accurate dimensions, flatness, surface finish, and tolerances as per engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Operate surface grinding machines safely and efficiently.
Set up grinding machines, workpieces, grinding wheels, and fixtures according to job requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and dimensional specifications.
Perform grinding operations to achieve required dimensions, flatness, parallelism, and surface finish.
Select appropriate grinding wheels, speeds, feeds, and dressing parameters.
Measure components using micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, dial gauges, and other precision instruments.
Perform grinding wheel dressing and machine adjustments as required.
Inspect finished components and ensure they meet specified quality standards and tolerances.
Identify and correct dimensional or surface-finish issues during the grinding process.
Maintain machines, tools, and work areas in clean and secure operating condition.




Follow company safety procedures and quality control requirements.
Record production and inspection details as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Relevant experience in surface grinding or precision machining.
Good knowledge of surface grinding machine operations and setup.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
Understanding of grinding wheels, wheel dressing, cutting parameters, and surface finishes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and meet production targets.

Experience 5 years of experience in surface grinding, precision grinding, or similar machining operations preferred.
