Job Description – Senior Manager, Testing (Testing CoE)

Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Testing will support the Testing Center of Excellence (CoE) Lead in driving quality engineering strategy, delivery excellence, and capability building across projects and clients. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end testing programs, building scalable automation and performance practices, supporting pre-sales initiatives, and ensuring adherence to defined quality governance models across engagements.

The role will work closely with Delivery, Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases, optimized test cycles, and measurable business outcomes through robust QA practices. The position reports to the Testing CoE Lead and plays a critical role in scaling the organization’s testing capabilities and delivery maturity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery & Quality Assurance Leadership

Manage end-to-end testing delivery across multiple projects and accounts.

Ensure adherence to QA processes, quality gates, and release readiness standards.

Drive functional, regression, automation, performance, and security testing practices.

Monitor defect trends, quality metrics, and ensure continuous improvement in release quality.

Establish scalable test planning, estimation, and execution frameworks.

2. Test Automation & Engineering Excellence

Lead implementation of automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and data testing.

Improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing cycles across projects.

Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to enable shift-left quality practices.





Evaluate and implement modern testing tools, accelerators, and reusable frameworks.

Drive adoption of AI-driven testing and intelligent automation where applicable.

3. CoE Capability Building

Support TCoE Lead in building testing frameworks, best practices, and reusable assets.

Develop standard templates, test strategies, and governance models.

Mentor and upskill QA teams on automation, performance, security, and new-age testing practices.

Build internal competency in emerging areas like AI testing, data testing, and DevSecOps testing.

4. Pre-Sales & Solutioning Support

Support sales and pre-sales teams in QA solutioning, effort estimation, and proposal creation.

Participate in RFP/RFI responses and client presentations related to testing capabilities.

Design QA strategies and testing architecture for new opportunities and client engagements.

Help build case studies, accelerators, and reusable solution frameworks.

5. Stakeholder & Customer Management

Work closely with delivery heads, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders.

Conduct quality reviews, governance meetings, and risk assessments.

Provide periodic reporting on test coverage, automation, defects, and release readiness.

Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent delivery quality and proactive communication.





6. Operational & Governance Support

Ensure compliance with defined QA governance, standards, and reporting mechanisms.

Track productivity, utilization, and quality metrics across testing engagements.

Support environment readiness, test data management, and release coordination.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across testing lifecycle and processes.

Required Skills & Experience

12–16 years of experience in QA/Testing with solid exposure to enterprise testing programs.

Minimum 5+ years in leadership role managing testing teams and multiple projects.

Strong hands-on experience in:

Test automation (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, API automation)

Performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, etc.)

CI/CD and DevOps-integrated testing

Test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.)

Experience in defining QA strategies, frameworks, and governance models.

Exposure to pre-sales, estimation, and solutioning for testing opportunities.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Preferred certifications: ISTQB, Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or relevant automation/performance certifications.
