Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure & SSL Certificate Management Engineer with 8+ years of experience in managing enterprise Linux environments and certificate lifecycle operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in RHEL/Unix administration, SSL certificate management, and production support operations. The role involves ensuring secure and seamless certificate renewals, maintaining system availability, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and supporting critical business applications in production environments.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage and administer Linux servers in enterprise environments, primarily RHEL/Unix systems.
- Perform SSL/TLS certificate installation, renewal, replacement, and troubleshooting across servers, applications, and infrastructure components.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external Certificate Authorities (CA) for certificate issuance, validation, and renewal processes.
- Monitor certificate expiration and proactively ensure timely renewals to avoid service disruptions.
- Manage certificate lifecycle processes, including generation of CSRs, certificate deployment, and validation.
- Troubleshoot SSL/TLS-related issues, including certificate chain, trust store, and connectivity problems.
- Support production systems and ensure high availability, performance, and security compliance.
- Participate in incident management,



root cause analysis, and problem resolution activities.
- Work closely with application, network, and security teams for infrastructure-related support.
- Implement and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in on-call support and critical outage management when required.

Required Technical Skills
Linux Administration

- Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration in RHEL/Unix environments.
- Expertise in system monitoring, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing file systems, user administration, process management, and system services.
- Good understanding of shell scripting and automation concepts.

SSL Certificate Management

- Hands-on experience managing SSL/TLS certificates in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of certificate lifecycle management.
- Experience generating and managing:
- CSR (Certificate Signing Requests)
- Private/Public Keys
- PKCS12, JKS, PEM, DER formats
- Experience installing certificates on web servers, application servers, and middleware platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot certificate trust, chain, and handshake issues.

Certificate Authority (CA) Knowledge

- Valuable understanding of Certificate Authorities and PKI concepts.




- Experience working with internal and external CAs.
- Understanding of certificate validation, signing, revocation, and renewal processes.
- Knowledge of security best practices related to certificate management.

Additional Requirements

- Strong experience supporting and managing production environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle critical production incidents with minimal supervision.
- Experience working in a fast-paced support model.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Shell scripting.
- Knowledge of Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies, and Web Servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and Service Management tools.
- Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with monitoring tools and operational dashboards.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in Linux Administration or Security are preferred.
