Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee, maintain, and optimize the electrical power distribution, control systems, and heavy plant machinery at our steel manufacturing facility in Taloja, Navi Mumbai. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous production, minimizing equipment downtime, leading preventive and breakdown maintenance, and upholding strict EHS and industrial safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform breakdown and corrective maintenance on HT/LT power distribution networks, switchgears, transformers, induction furnaces, rolling mill machinery, EOT cranes, and heavy AC/DC motors.
PLC & Automation Control: Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), VFD drives, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation across processing lines.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Plan, execute, and monitor routine preventive maintenance schedules and condition monitoring to maximize plant uptime.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate electrical failures, conduct RCA for critical breakdowns, and implement long-term corrective and preventive actions.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce standard safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures,



and compliance with Indian Electricity Rules and local industrial regulations.
Spares & Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels for critical electrical spares, sensors, motor components, and circuit breakers to ensure minimal repair delay.
Shift Supervision: Lead and supervise shift electricians, technicians, and external contractors during routine operations and scheduled shutdown overhauls.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: B.E. / B. Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or Electrical & Electronics Engineering).
Experience: 3-7 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing, ideally in a steel manufacturing plant, foundry, or heavy engineering unit.
Technical Proficiency:
Hands-on expertise in HT/LT substations, power transformers, motor control centers (MCC), and industrial automation (PLCs & VFDs).
Proficiency in reading single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical control schematics, and P&IDs.;
Familiarity with heavy industrial equipment like induction furnaces, continuous casting machines, or rolling mills.
Certifications: PWD Electrical Supervisor License / HT Supervisor License issued by the Maharashtra State Electricity Board/Govt. is highly preferred.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, team management, and ability to handle operational emergencies effectively.
