Job Summary

We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator (L1) to support the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and administration of Oracle database environments. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of L2/L3 DBAs and handle first-level database support and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor database health, performance, and availability using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and scripts.
- Perform routine RMAN backups and verify backup success/failure logs.
- Handle first-level troubleshooting of database alerts, job failures, and space-related issues.
- Manage database user accounts, roles, and basic privilege grants.
- Monitor and resolve tablespace, archive log, and disk space issues.
- Execute scheduled maintenance activities such as statistics gathering, log rotation, and cleanup jobs.
- Log, document, and escalate critical incidents to L2/L3 teams as per SOP.
- Support database patching, cloning, and refresh activities under supervision.




- Participate in on-call and shift rotation for 24x7 database support.

Required Skills

- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Understanding of Oracle Database Architecture, including instances, memory structures, and processes.
- Basic knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery.
- Basic Linux/Unix command-line skills.
- Knowledge of tablespace and storage management.
- Understanding of database user, role, and security management.
- Good troubleshooting and communication skills.

Positive to Have

- Conceptual knowledge of Oracle RAC.
- Conceptual knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

- 0-3 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration / Database Support.
- Freshers with relevant Oracle DBA knowledge and training may also be considered.
