Shift Timings: 4 AM to 12 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing BAU Java codebase to identify components built on outdated or corrupted libraries
- Design and implement a re-engineering strategy to rewrite affected modules using current, stable Java/Spring Boot practices
- Containerize and modernize deployment using Docker, ensuring consistency across environments
- Ensure all existing business controls, validations, and compliance checks are preserved and thoroughly tested through the rewrite
- Work within the payment processing domain, understanding transaction flows, settlement logic, and related controls
- Collaborate with the client's technical and business stakeholders to validate functional parity post-rewrite
- Conduct root-cause analysis on any defects introduced during migration and resolve proactively
- Provide technical documentation of the re-engineered components for future maintainability
- Work independently in a PNG shift-aligned schedule, coordinating with distributed teams as needed
Must-Have Requirements:
- 6+ years of hands-on Java development experience
- Solid, demonstrated experience in code re-engineering / legacy modernization (not just feature development)
- Hands-on Docker experience (containerization, deployment)
- Payment processing domain experience is mandatory - transaction processing, payment gateways, settlement, or related systems
- Proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to work independently on ambiguous, high-stakes rewrites
