- Position Summary
- - We are looking for an experienced Vertical Head – International Sales to lead and grow the company's global Engine Business for automotive Tier-1 customers.
- - The position will be responsible for developing international markets, acquiring new global customers, managing strategic accounts, driving RFQs and business awards, and achieving revenue and profitability targets across engine-related products and systems.
- - The role will work closely with Engineering, NPD, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Finance to convert global opportunities into sustainable business.
- - Key Responsibilities
- 1. International Business Strategy
- Develop and execute the global sales strategy for the Engine Business.
- Identify new markets, customers, platforms and product opportunities.
- Build a robust international sales pipeline and achieve annual revenue and margin targets.
- Develop strategies for North America, Europe, ASEAN, Japan, Middle East and other strategic markets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, technology changes and customer sourcing strategies.
- 2. Global Customer Development
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with global automotive OEMs and Tier-1 customers.
- Drive customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts.
- Establish relationships with Purchasing, Engineering, R&D;, Supplier Quality and senior management teams.
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships with global customers.
- Represent the organization in customer meetings, technical discussions and commercial negotiations.
- 3. New Business Development & RFQ Management
- Lead the complete RFQ/RFI/RFQ-to-business-award process for international customers.
- Identify new engine platforms, vehicle programs and product opportunities.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Costing teams for competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Lead pricing, costing, commercial negotiations and business closure.
- Track quotation conversion, LOIs, nominations and SOP schedules.
- Build a strong order pipeline and ensure achievement of new-business targets.
- 4. Engine Business / Product Knowledge
- - Candidate should have strong understanding of automotive engine components/products such as:
- - Engine hoses and tube assemblies
- Fuel-system components
- Cooling-system components
- Air-intake and charge-air systems
- Exhaust-related components
- Oil and coolant lines
- Thermal-management components
- Metal tube assemblies
- Rubber hose assemblies
- Fluid-transfer systems
- Engine mounting / related engine components, where applicable
- - Technical understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, APQP, PPAP, validation, product development and OEM approval processes is preferred.
- - 5. Commercial & P&L; Responsibility
- Own international sales revenue, gross margin and profitability targets.
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing, annual price revisions and long-term agreements.
- Develop cost-down and VA/VE strategies with customers.
- Monitor customer profitability and contribution margins.
- Manage payment terms, commercial risks and contractual commitments.
- Support annual budgeting and business planning.
- 6. Strategic Account Management
- Develop strategic account plans for major global customers.
- Ensure customer retention and business expansion.
- Identify cross-selling and new-product opportunities.
- Resolve commercial and customer-related escalations.
- Establish executive-level relationships with key international accounts.
- 7. Cross-Functional Leadership
- - Work closely with:

- - Ensure smooth transition from RFQ nomination development PPAP SOP serial production.
- - 8. International Market Expansion
- Develop distributors, representatives and strategic partners where required.
- Explore opportunities for local manufacturing, localization and strategic partnerships.
- Develop market-entry strategies for new geographies.
- Participate in international automotive exhibitions and customer events.
- Conduct regular global customer and market visits.

- Experience
- 18–25 years of overall experience in automotive sales / international business.
- Strong experience in global automotive Tier-1 / OEM sales.
- Proven experience in Engine / Powertrain / Fluid Management / Engine Components business preferred.
- Should have demonstrated experience in building and scaling international business.
- Strong exposure to North American and/or European markets preferred.
- Experience managing large global customers and strategic accounts.
- Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Industrial Engineering preferred.
- MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing or International Business will be an advantage.
