Role & responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for customer communications with regard to enquires and orders

Responding to Enquiries

- Coordinates with all field staff and monitors their performance on day-to-day basis (Both Office and

field) and gives them training and guidance to achieve their tasks/targets

- Coordinates with the design department for quick responses to enquiries of special and new products
- Follows-up with customers for orders and tenders
- Ensures that a register of quotations is maintained and sent to the sales representatives for

converting enquiries into orders

- Understands special chuck applications
- Ensures that customers get adequate support from the company in terms of drawings and time-bound

completion of activities

- Coordinates with SHQ for sales conferences and prepare for presentations and reports
- Develop and execute a structured sales visit plan covering the Chennai region, with regular visits to

existing and prospective customers to drive business growth

- Plan and coordinate joint sales visits with the Application Team whenever required, including

customer visits anywhere in India, based on technical and business requirements

- Meet prospective customers (A, B & C) and identify new requirements and business opportunities

Order Acceptance

- Compares the quotation sent and order received to identify any deviations
- Negotiates with the customer for order amendments in case of any deviations from the quotation sent

Customer Interaction

- Interacts with the customer and understand their queries/needs
- Conducts customer education programs in all regions in coordination with SHQ.
- Monitors pending ROQ region wise and follows-up with potential customers.
- Monitors, follows up and takes further action based on, CCRs




- Monitors and ensures customer information data base is updated Customer Trials • Coordinates with the customer and with the Quality/CMM departments during trials of components / machines Correspondence and other activities • Corresponds with the customer in terms of current products / features

Common Responsibilities:

- Prepares budget for his department and monitors costs
- Coordinates with other departments to achieve his department’s goals derived from the company

goals/visions/strategy

- Develops strategies to achieve department/ company objectives in line with the values of the

company.

- Ensures departmental data are properly structured and stored and maintained/ backed up in the

prescribed format

- Ensures company data is secure as per the company's IT policies
- Continually improve departmental processes by monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of the

processes.

- Interact with other groups effectively to meet his department goals and constantly upgrade products

and processes.

- Participates in management team reviews of management systems (QMS/EMS) relevant to his

department, and maintenance of QMS/EMS / TQM/ 5S documents.

- Maintains general discipline as per standing orders and other statutory/regulatory orders which might

be applicable from time to time.

- Recruits, Identifies training needs, coordinates training and monitor the effectiveness of his team by

carrying out performance appraisals as per the company's performance evaluation policies and

manages the individual careers of his team members within the company.

- Keeps abreast of various technology innovations in the industry and implement it in our products.
- Participates in various societies related to his department/field of interest.

Additional Duties / Responsibilities:

Additional duties and responsibilities will be assigned by management on a regular basis and the

performance assessed and rewarded according to the first two sheets (attributes and behavioral indicators).

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate in Mechanical Engineering who has adequate knowledge in design , customer coordination and sales.
