Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and distribution systems.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems across the hospital.
- Monitor and maintain DG sets, UPS systems, transformers, LT/HT panels, and electrical control panels.
- Attend electrical complaints from OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, wards, laboratories, and other hospital departments.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical care areas such as ICU, OT, Cath Lab, Blood Bank, and Emergency.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and rectify issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Monitor electrical equipment performance and report abnormalities.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and electrical logs.
- Coordinate with Biomedical Engineering and Maintenance teams during installation and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, hospital policies, and statutory regulations.
- Follow fire safety, infection control, and occupational safety guidelines while carrying out maintenance work.
- Maintain inventory of electrical tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Assist during emergency situations and power failures to restore services promptly.
- Perform any other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience ITI Electrician (Mandatory).
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.
- 2 5 years of experience as an Electrician, preferably in a hospital, healthcare facility, or commercial building.
- Experience in handling DG sets, UPS systems, HT/LT panels, and electrical maintenance is preferred.
Skills
- Robust knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and power distribution.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical faults efficiently.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- Basic knowledge of DG sets, UPS, transformers, and electrical control panels.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and emergency call duties.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively during emergencies.
Specialisation
