Role & responsibilities

1. Interpret and report X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI examinations as per qualification and competency.
2. Review clinical history and relevant investigations to provide accurate and clinically relevant radiological interpretations.
3. Perform and supervise ultrasound examinations and other diagnostic imaging procedures within the scope of expertise.
4. Perform image-guided procedures such as FNAC, biopsies, drainages, or other interventions as per training, competency, and hospital protocols.
5. Provide timely and accurate radiology reports to referring physicians and clinical departments.
6. Identify and promptly communicate critical or life-threatening findings to the treating physician/clinical team.
7. Participate in emergency radiology services and provide timely interpretation of urgent imaging studies.
8. Coordinate with consultants, surgeons, physicians, emergency teams, and other clinical departments regarding imaging findings and patient management.
9. Ensure appropriate imaging protocols are selected based on the patient's clinical condition and examination requirements.
10. Ensure appropriate use of contrast media and follow established protocols for contrast administration and management of adverse reactions.
11. Maintain awareness of radiation safety principles and ensure compliance with applicable radiation protection standards.
12. Review image quality and ensure diagnostic adequacy of radiological examinations before reporting.

Maintain accurate and complete documentation of reports, procedures, contrast administration, and other relevant clinical information.
14. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, tumor boards, clinical discussions, and case reviews when required.
15. Provide guidance and clinical support to radiographers, technicians, junior doctors, and other radiology staff.
16. Support the implementation and adherence to departmental SOPs, clinical protocols, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
17. Participate in quality assurance activities, peer reviews, audits, morbidity/mortality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
18. Ensure proper patient identification, informed consent where applicable, and adherence to patient-safety protocols.
19. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and comply with medical ethics and hospital policies.
20. Participate in teaching, training, academic activities, and continuing medical education programs as required.

Required Qualifications

- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/DNB in Radiology / Radiodiagnosis or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification.
- 34 years of relevant experience as a Radiologist/Consultant Radiologist.
- Valid medical registration with the applicable medical council.
- Relevant certifications and registrations required for operating/handling applicable imaging modalities.
