ABOUT THE ROLE

NMG Technologies is hiring a hands-on SEO Specialist to own technical and content-driven search performance across our web properties — and to help build our capability in Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) as search shifts toward AI-driven surfaces like AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. This is a deep-audit role: you'll be diagnosing real technical issues on WordPress, reconciling data across Google Search Console and GA4, and recovering traffic lost to penalties, indexing problems, or algorithm updates — not just running reports.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Run end-to-end technical SEO audits on WordPress sites — indexation bloat, crawl budget issues, plugin/theme conflicts, and Core Web Vitals failures.

- Diagnose and resolve traffic drops using Google Search Console and GA4, distinguishing ranking issues from tracking/attribution issues.

- Lead link audits and penalty recovery work — identifying toxic backlinks, building disavow files, and preparing reconsideration requests where needed.

- Investigate and respond to manual actions, security issues, and indexing anomalies (deindexing, hacked/malware flags) reported in GSC.

- Build and maintain reporting that ties organic performance to business outcomes, using GSC and GA4 data together (not either in isolation).

- Develop and pilot AEO/GEO strategies — structuring content and schema so it's citable by AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other generative search surfaces.

- Partner with content and dev teams to implement fixes directly in WordPress, including plugin configuration, schema markup, and site structure changes.





- Stay current on core algorithm updates and AI-search developments, and translate them into concrete action items for the team.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 2–5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with real ownership of technical audits — not just content or on-page SEO.

- Demonstrated experience working directly in WordPress: theme/plugin troubleshooting, indexation control, and Core Web Vitals fixes.

- Strong working knowledge of Google Search Console — Page Indexing, Performance, URL Inspection, Manual Actions, and Security Issues reports.

- Practical GA4 experience, including the ability to reconcile GA4 data against GSC and explain discrepancies to stakeholders.

- Experience with link audits, disavow files, and penalty or traffic-drop recovery — able to walk through a real case, not just define the terms.

- Familiarity with schema markup and structured data, and an interest in (or early experience with) AEO/GEO as a discipline.

- Comfortable presenting findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVE

- Prior experience recovering a site from a confirmed Google manual action or major algorithm hit.

- Familiarity with log file analysis for crawl budget diagnosis.

- Exposure to AI Overview / generative search citation tracking tools.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
